This is my second time taking the bus from Ottawa to Peterborough. The bus is comfortable and schedule is fairly convenient but both times the driver took personal phone calls and spoke at top volume for most of the trip. Several guests try to sleep but it’s impossible with the driver talking so loud the whole trip.

I had an excellent trip with Rider Express. The driver was professional, attentive, and made the entire trip feel safe and comfortable. It’s clear the team values punctuality and passenger care. One suggestion for improvement: it would be wonderful if all the pickup locations had a bus shelter or a covered area nearby. On rainy days, customers are left standing in the open, and a simple shelter would help with the wait, especially during bad weather when delays are inevitable. I also want to give a special shoutout to a kind fellow passenger. While I was waiting for the bus at the Ottawa West location, a nice lady who came to drop a fellow passenger, graciously offered me a warm, dry spot to wait in their car. Their kindness towards a stranger really touched me! Overall, excellent service from Rider Express and kindness from fellow passengers is a bonus, I’ll gladly ride with them again.

I have been travelling twice a week with Rider Express since September 2025 as I have a long commute to school. While the buses are comfortable and drivers mostly friendly and professional, the buses are almost always late. The email notifications are not issued early enough and I have wasted several hours that could have been used for more productive things! This happens almost every week and it’s really frustrating. It’s even more so because there’s nothing to compensate the customer for this regular delays which sometimes leads to missing my next train or bus out of Toronto with attendant costs and risks. I suggest that the company notifies registered customers about likely delays at least 45 minutes before the normal take off time. This gives enough time to stay where they are especially now that it’s winter season. Drivers should also, give at least 5 minutes of grace when they arrive late. I almost missed a late bus after waiting in the cold for more than an hour! I decided to step into a nearby store from where I could see the bus stop when it got too cold. Before I got out when the bus eventually arrived, the driver had moved from the bus stop and I had to run after him. That’s mean! 😢! He literally didn’t not wait at all because I was not standing out in the cold when he arrived. Customers do not have to freeze to death in the cold while waiting for the bus. The same bus broke down on the way at another time and we had to wait more than an hour for another bus going our way. Imagine that someone had a flight to connect? After all these inconveniences, the company does not think it necessary to gift customers with bonus points as a compensation? I think you can do better please.

The overall service was very good. I booked a round trip to Ottawa West and was pleased with both journeys. However, I would like to share one area for improvement: There is currently no sheltered area for passengers boarding at Ottawa West. Waiting outdoors without protection—especially in winter—creates a difficult experience. On December 4th at 5:50 PM, my bus to Toronto was delayed by 12 minutes. I was waiting at 1371 Woodroffe Ave, Nepean, Ontario (on Navaho Drive behind the Sports 4 store) in –18°C weather. The cold affected me physically, and my phone battery died, preventing me from showing my ticket. When I boarded, the driver was upset that I hadn’t shown it earlier, although he was able to verify my name. I kindly suggest working with the city to install at least a sheltered waiting area at this stop. This would significantly improve the passenger experience. Aside from this, everything exceeded my expectations. The booking system is excellent—clear and well organized—and customer service has always responded quickly by email. In the future, adding a WhatsApp support channel could further enhance communication for riders. Thank you for your attention and for providing generally great service. Thanks, John

This was my first time traveling with Rider Express from Ottawa to Toronto, and I have to admit I was initially skeptical due to some negative reviews. However, after this experience, I was proven wrong. The bus driver was punctual and arrived at the pickup point right on time. He even took a 360-degree photo of the bus exterior before proceeding with luggage handling. He efficiently stored our bags in the luggage area, scanned our tickets, and we were on our way in no time. We made a brief stop at the Kingston pickup point, leaving about 30 minutes later. I decided to check out the on-board restroom, and to my surprise, it was spotless! Later, the bus made a quick 4-minute stop by the roadside, during which the driver took care of some washroom-related items outside the bus. I assumed this was because a passenger had approached him regarding an issue with the on-board washroom. Regardless, the rest of the journey was smooth and pleasant, and we arrived at the Scarborough Town Centre drop-off point right on time. In conclusion, this was a great experience overall. I would definitely travel with Rider Express again in the future.

I had a very nice ride from Ottawa to Toronto. The bus was on time and there was plenty of room for everyone getting on. The driver was friendly and efficient. There was Wi-Fi and an electrical outlet to power my phone.. The only thing I would change, is to have a bit more cushioning in the lower back of the seats. Now that the seats are made of a more washable material and not a knitted material, they don’t have the same comfort level.

Although it was not the bus driver it was an annoying passenger sitting directly behind me who was gagging and blowing her nose for the whole 5 hour drive. It was truly disgusting hearing her gag constantly. So gross. I hope I don’t have to experience anything like this again. The bus drive could have been so pleasant but this passenger made it a terrible experience. Couldn’t even sleep because of the gagging.

Normally I could give a 5 stars review for my experience with Rider express because the trip itself was fine, no long delay, good driving overall but I gave 3 stars because of the toilets. Oh my God, from Toronto to London the toilets were unusable, such a strong odor coming from it, I am glad that I had to realize this before we left Toronto station so I was fortunate to use Union station washrooms. During the trip, whenever someone opened the toilets, the scent was choking. Please take better care of your toilets, it was unacceptable!

Bonjour Rider EXPRESS Ma suggestion pour vous c'est de communiquer suffisamment sur le lieu de départ. les nouveaux arrivants qui veulent utiliser les services de bus pour se déplacer ont des soucis énormes. Ce jour j'ai eu du mal a me retrouver. communiquer en utilisant les images pour faciliter le repérage, laissez les numéros que l'on peut appeler si on ne se retrouve pas facilement. Il faut aussi prévoir les chariots pour transporter les sacs, j'ai tire mon sac au sol et il s'est abimé. J'ai aime le voyage, le chauffeur était professionnel . Veillez m'expliquer le ticket de 59,99 CAD ci-dessous. je ne comprends pas. Merci d'avance.

Bus driver was excellent however the person in Toronto who helps to get your bag off was racist you should not have people working with customers who don’t treat other races with respect she was a short woman who is supposed to receive customers with respect she gave people a rude face and showed attitude and didn’t even want to help anyone we had to go remove our bags ourselves as she stood there
