He knew how to drive on icy slippery snow covered roads with blowing icy snow . He was very patient with us and our questions. Even with riders who tried to question him while he was concentrating on driving. I would not hesitate to travel with him again.

Hi, my first trip on your bus. It was 25. mins late but the driver was grumpy when he told us traffic was the problem. Understandable. My seat was at the very front, as I and another elderly lady were going to get on, the driver said there wer only two seats left and they were at the front . I shared my seat with luggage on the next seat. I was told they had to stay there - someone had forgotten them. NOW we get to Kamloops .our new driver was an absolute charm. He was a short East Indian in a sparkling white ironed shirt. He saw the luggage next to me and promptly removed it and put it in the overhood bin. He was so VERY polite. If only all your drivers were like him. Such a change from the first driver.

Thanks for giving me this opportunity to give my side of the story. Rider Express is set up just perfectly for my visits to my daughter in Salmon Arm. I leave here at noon and get back at 7 p.m. I consider your drivers to be highly courteous, well dressed, and smooth drivers. As far as I can see, they drive according to the law and are considerate of other drivers on the road. I feel perfectly confident riding with them. The coaches are clean and comfortable. I avoid public washrooms as much as possible because I have mobility issues and must walk with a cane or walker, so walking in a moving bus is not a thing I feel comfortable doing. But if your washroom is as clean as the rest of the coach I'm sure it is okay too. I appreciate that they are considerate of my mobility and seating arrangements. It would be nice if there was someplace to sit down while waiting at the Salmon Arm depot, especially once the weather gets cold and I'm waiting for my ride. I cannot stand for very long. The bus left Vancouver on time. Nothing was said about using seatbelts or stowing carry on items. Luggage that should have been loaded underneath was in the passenger compartment. The driver was friendly and he pointed out lingering smoke from a previous fire. The break in Chillawack was appreciated but the very long wait to change drivers in Kamloops was frustrating after making such good time.

This was my first time travelling with Rider Express. I started my travels from Surrey, B.C travelling to Salmon Arm. Driver, Darryl, was pleasant and informative and drove safely to Kamloops. New driver took over in Kamloops and got us safely to Salmon Arm. Driver from Kamloops I felt could have been more personable by at least introducing himself as we left Kamloops and could have given the passengers some itinerary details on our way to Salmon Arm. My previous comments may not be a priority but the driver got me to my destination safely and I’m grateful for that. I would recommend Rider Express to anyone that would require Bus Service.

First driver we had was great, very helpful and respectful. The second one for the majority of the trip was a bit stand off ish at first, and then made the comment "you should be paying attention" when people mistakenly got up at the Banff stop after the driver did not state it would not be a rest stop. This was understandably confusing as we had at least a 10 minute break at every other stop beforehand, so im not sure if it's standard to immediately leave but she could have at least made it more clear or keep condescending comments to herself.

Awesome drivers . Only incident we had aboard the bus Kamloops to Calgary was a elderly man who got on in Sorrento he lit a cigarette while the coach was moving I quickly got him to understand that there was no smoking aboard any coaches etc . He was kind but to what I access as I helped him was confusion seemed like a memory issue happening . He quickly put on his cigarette and no more issues with him . He thanked me for helping him . I kept eyes on him until we arrived in Calgary . Only complaint I do have is when the driver plays music while driving Vancouver driver and no announcements were given about safety etc . People still playing their videos , speaker phones on, phones should be on vibrate but never are sone do . Why should others be subjected to their phone calls , music videos for not fair . Can cameras be placed on the bus to ensure safety of the driver and passengers , this is a major must . We also need better signage on the buses , bo,d letters not little drug stickers you cannot read at all, when I travelled on our beloved Greyhound we had that displayed and people knew if they did not comply your trip was over . Our drivers never took crap . That needs to be done on these buses . Thank you all

Ryder Communication with passengers isn’t great. 1. The Coquihalla was closed yesterday evening after i bought my ticket. Luckily, it was a Wednesday so I emailed and got a response from Gee saying the bus still scheduled to run and management would be making the final decision in the morning. Not a very helpful response if you have to get up early to catch the bus at 8 a.m. when the decision whether or not the road would be opening was to be at 10 a.m. What would happen if it wasn’t opened? 2. There was no discussion of an alternative route at any time before boarding. I asked the fellow who was checking us in. He had no idea, but looked it up on his and showed me the route (Hwy 1). Had I not asked, I would not have known. 3. We were well on the way to Surrey before the bus driver announced that we’d be taking the canyon but didn’t give any estimate of how much longer it would take. I had to Google the route to get an idea so that I could text my brother not to come at the scheduled time. I think what should have happened was this: An email and text should have been sent out the night before the trip saying - that Coquihalla was closed due to forest fire however you will do everything in your power to get us to our destination - that if it did not reopen in time, the plan is for the bus to take an alternative route on Hwy 1 - that in that case, the bus would not be stopping in Merritt, and that you’ll be in contact directly with any Merritt passengers - you anticipate the trip taking an additional 1.5 hours - that if there are any changes, you will update passengers You should have also posted this on your website immediately after the closure was announced. This is basic issues management.

The driver from Surrey to Kamloops was extremely unprofessional. He spoke on the loud speaker for an extended amount of time - it was brutal. There should be a set script that they refer to. He was very ‘crass’ in his chosen words - telling the ladies that if it is “their time of the month… or if they were having That Day …don’t make a mess in the bathroom” and for the guys to “sit down to pee and if you pee on the seat or floor come and see (him) for cleaning supplies”. I realize that ya’ll see all kinds riding the bus - but there is a better and more professional way to speak. He also spoke very harshly, not respectfully and professionally - to people who had stood up thinking we were a taking a break (in Chilliwack) - where the bus usually does take a break. He went in and in about being disrespected. He was an ok driver, but aggressive at times, tailgating and even pulled up beside the Ebus just to wave at the driver. He also talks a lot to himself quite loudly - something he was doing during my trip down to the Coast a few days earlier. It’s very weird. And his uniform was filthy. The driver that took over in Kamloops thru to my departure in Salmon Arm was light years ahead of the first driver in terms of his professionalism, overall presentation and driving skills. That gentleman represents your company very well.

I had to break up a fight in the back of the bus. A passenger was under the influence of substances and nearly forced a guy into the bathroom and then the guy smacked the guy on the back of the head. I reported the incident immediately to the two bus drivers in Merritt bc. This incident occurred tonight August 29th 2025. The assault took place roughly between Hope BC and Merritt BC. The bus driver did nothing about it. The bus driver is the driver from Vancouver to Merritt, white guy with tattoos on his arms.

However this trip from Vancouver to Salmon Arm was unbearably hot due to the air conditioning not working and weather conditions being very hot temperatures outside. Pros: easy pickup, reasonable cost, professional driver, smooth ride, departure on time, arrival nearly on time which was good considering a minor mechanical issue Cons: Seat spacing is tight for tall people, seat backs could use a laptop or ipad tray (like an airplane), bus had a minor mechanical issue in Golden but repair van came and quickly got us on the road again so a 20 min delay turned into only 10 min late. Washroom door wouldn't latch unless someone was inside so the entire ride the door slammed open & closed annoying those in the back. Minor issues but together left a question as to maintenance practices and future reliability. May try it again but will check reviews to see if these are normal or unusual experiences.

I really enjoyed my trip with the exception of one thing. Would it be possible for the drivers to announce when stopping for pickup or short breaks that everyone keep their belongings on only the seat they have paid for. This always seems to be an issue when boarding a bus. If backpacks etc. cannot be placed above in the storage area or under the seat they should be in cargo not taking up two seats. We had a full bus. The bus driver from Kamloops to Calgary was so quiet on his announcements and the airport people are not bus people and didn’t get the bus rules or etiquette. We had people who left their garbage, they had the volume up on their cell phones and the person in front of us was FaceTime timing and had their phone so I could see the person that they were talking to and they could possibly see me. The bus driver will be busy cleaning that bus. The bus stop in Kamloops is the shits. Best stop is Golden. There is only washroom for both male and female that requires a key. Not everyone can go to the washroom and stretch their legs. The seat were more comfortable on this bus but there were no cup holders and if the person in front of you put their seat back they were almost in your lap/ face.

There was an accident between Chase and Sorrento, after sitting along the road for awhile the driver turned around to take an alternative route. It was through gravel roads and narrow roads, with alot of traffic going in both directions. Our driver was amazing at getting past those switchbacks on that road. He deserves a pat on the back for sure. I think his name was Goodie, not sure of spelling. I always user Rider bus. i loved that we got a newer bus. It was clean and in good condition.

Overweight charge was acceptable i agree, but bus driver charged my small backpack as well, forced me put it as 3rd parcel, charged extra $30. I couldn't complain about it, I was a last person, everybody already got on the bus, nobody could help me, just me and bus driver. I afraid that he would objected me, not allow me to get on the bus. His attitude was not welcoming, he was dealing me bad way i felt, looked like minor angry. So, I couldn't ask him. I carried a small shopping bag together, but he said it's not allowed carry two items at once into the bus. I never had that situation before with different bus drivers. Probably, following the rule strictly, it could make sense to charge it though. I hope your company is more flexible or generous about the situation. Thank you.

It was great. Ontime. I’ve taken Rider several times. I no longer use E-Bus to get to Kamloops or Salmon Arm and back. However I’ve only ever had one driver request people wear their seat belts. This was after the E-Bus terrible crash between West Kelowna and Merritt a couple of years ago. I think drivers should remind the passengers to pit on seat belts first their own safety EVERY TIME they are departing from each stop. In addition the seatbelt for the seat I was using yesterday July 31 would not extend at all. I think it was Seat 20. Luckily the window seat beside me was available and that seatbelt worked. How often are the seatbelts checked to be working? These are the only reasons I rated my trip a 4 instead of a 5. Thank you.

We had never heard of this company. We googled ebus and saw the sponsored ad by Rider Express. Great feature to leave directly from Vancouver Airport. Friendly and courteous bus driver Brett. Will highly recommend

Abbotsford to Sicamous

The driver from Abbotsford : I asked In Merritt when switching drivers if I could pop out for a quick drag of a smoke he said “I’d rather you not” then proceeded to stand outside with the second driver for 15 minutes.. I get it if we were about to leave but not sure why I was technically denied when we had time. He was kinda rude about it as well . But it was a safe and good trip. Second driver was very nice and polite
